Download a very, very pre-alpha from Sourceforge.
(September 24. 2012) Wow, has been a long time. I'm working again on this project, some of the generic plugins work now, a very, very early pre-alpha can be downloaded from Sourceforge.
(September 23. 2010) It's been a while since I updated the first version of the GMTool, mainly because working as a java coder for money took a away a little bit of enthusiasm for my private coding projects, sorry. Anyway, after looking at the old code again, I decided to code a new version of the GMTool from scratch. The old version had some nice features, but a more consequent plugin approch will, imho, improve the tool greatly. So in the next version almost everything will be designed as a plugin and the user will be able to define his (or her) workspace by choosing which plugins to use (also allowing other developers to create their own plugins more easily). The project now has a SourceForge page, simply because they offer a free SVN repository, which is usefull as I intended to share the sourcecode anyway and wanted to access the code from other places without having to carry it around on an USB stick :). Stay tuned.
The “Gamemaster Tool” (GMTool) is a simple tool, written in Java, to aid gamemasters in running their gaming sessions by managing their notes, handouts, player and non-player character, etc. It was specifically designed to work on a small notebook (like the EEE PC, which is small enough not to use up all space on the gaming table), but will work on most computers/notebooks.
The really interesting pieces are, of course, the plugins, but the GMTool itself offers a reliable frame with some nice features:
I started with some Shadowrun 4th Edition plugins, mainly because I need them, but also to have some plugins to show how it's done.
After the Shadowrun plugins are done, I will probably write some GURPS plugins, obviously they will probably be like the Shadowrun plugins, just for GURPS
After the hell freezes over… Ok, perhaps a little bit earlier, when I'm done with the GURPS plugins, I will probably start working on some TDE plugins.
